The two solo parts of the Concerto for two violins in D minor, performed by the Netherlands Bach Society for All of Bach, have survived in Bach’s own handwriting. This autograph dates from around 1730, a few years after the composer had moved from Köthen to Leipzig. Bach composed most of his instrumental concertos in the period 1717–1723, while working at the court of Leopold von Anhalt-Köthen, but this work appears to be an exception.

Spirits of Music is an unusual musical journey through the centuries, with stops on all continents. Inspired by their creators different faiths, the works on the program have a strong religious background and are moving examples of the emotional power and effect of music. Internationally renowned soloists and ensembles as Bobby McFerrin (a ten-time Grammy Award winner, he is one of the world’s best-known vocal innovators and improvisers, a worldrenowned classical conductor), Nigel Kennedy (one of the world’s leading violin virtuosos), Sibylla Rubens (has emerged as one of the most compelling lyric sopranos of her day) or the Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig will perform popular works from the European music tradition, encompassing Bach, Mozart and Verdi. Many magnificent examples of religious music come from artists as Kroke (playing and composing with the realm of authentic Jewish music), the Kuumba Singers (dedicated to the expression of black creativity and spirituality through song), Mari Boine (one of the most impressive folk artists of contemporary time), the Bulgarian Voices Angelite (24 women whose hypnotic chant circles the globe), Vocal Sampling (a Cuban six-man a cappella group which has been described as one of the wonders of the musical world) and the the Ensemble Al-Kindi (is currently rated among the best formations devoted to classical Arab music). With the inclusion of world music, the program will achieve a highly suspenseful juxtaposition of European and non-European music.

Когда младший брат Вадима (Олег Загородний) совершает ограбление, их мать обещает покончить с собой, если Вадим не найдет способ спасти брата от тюрьмы. Вадиму приходится расстаться с любимой девушкой Катей (Пелагея Невзорова) и жениться на влюбленной в него Инне (Полина Леонова), дочери главы администрации (Валерий Афанасьев). Катя исчезает, так и не сказав Вадиму, что беременна.
Спустя пять лет Вадим, уже успешный чиновник, случайно встречает Катю и узнает, что у него есть сын Миша. Но Катя уверена, что он не нужен ни ей, ни сыну. Вадиму приходится признаться самому себе, что он совершил ошибку и сам разрушил свое счастье. И ради кого? Ради деспотичной матери, которая его использовала, но никогда не любила? Ради обожаемого матерью брата – пьяницы и уголовника, которого давно нужно было посадить?
Вадиму придется выбрать: богатая жизнь с нелюбимой женщиной или настоящая семья с Катей и Мишкой? И главное, понять, как заслужить прощение Кати?..

История разворачивается во время Великой Отечественной войны. Семерым заключенным удается бежать из «зоны» и укрыться в маленькой, забытой Богом и людьми, деревушке.
